Meet Sebastian Bach of Star Maps!

In the studio again with Star Maps.  I really enjoyed capturing the color, texture and emotion of this piece. Great guys to work with. They were very gracious and let me wander around and do my thing. I did my best to be quiet and stay out of the way. I’ve come to really enjoy to taking photographs of musicians. They are so honest with their emotions. They seem to slip away to some other place when they play. This is the moment when I like to photograph and make that moment linger.

The future face of Street Photography is Farzad Kohan. Farzad is a mixed media artist who specializes in abstract art. He paints, sculpts and is a brown belt in a lethal version of Shotokan Karate. Don’t let the Canon camera he’s holding fool you. He’s dangerous. The only thing more dangerous are his photos. I’ll be sure to post when his new art webstie is live. Farzad is a good friend of mine so he often winds up in many of my photos. He and I train in Shotokan Karate together so when we are visiting some questonble neighborhoods its nice to have another “Brown Belt” with me to watch my back. He’s a good friend and a great artist. Shot this image of Lord Vader when doing some street photography in Eagle Rock a while back. One of the things I love about street photography is just not knowing what you will find, what the subject is etc. In some ways I think its one of the most difficult (non combat) mediums because you just can’t plan for what you will find. I shot it because I thought it was a cool stencil of Darth Vader!
