Can’t remember where this was but the uniformity of the houses, almost all with swimming pools just seemed so Cliche that I had to take the picture. The refelctions were off the Plexiglas in the helicopter. It was one of my first shots and I was still getting adjusted to the helicopter but I had to put it up. I hope you like it as much as I do.

I really like this photograph. I see this photo and I think of Los Angeles being a mid evil castle that is surrounded by the townsfolk around it. The everyday normal people never get to go inside the castle. Most of the people who live around LA probably won’t ever get to go to the top floors of the high rise buildings. Who knows if most of them will ever get to even go inside one. None the less it’s still there. A fun shot, a bit tricky shooting through a plexi-glass window but it still pretty good (I think). I’m a really lucky guy for having the opportunity to be up in a helicopter taking photo’s!

When I’ve displayed this photo to my buds on Facebook I was surprised by the positive response. At first I was a little disappointed with the images but then when I thought about it I decided to give myself a little slack. I mean first time ever in helicopter, being a passenger in a vehicle that can go up down and all around and having no control over it? Come on relax. Plus using a new lens, and in a difficult environment can all lead to some challenges. Sometimes its tough to remember to shoot for the love of shooting. Enjoy what you do and do what you enjoy.

I hope you enjoy this photo of Flipper the friendly dolphin! I enjoyed taking it!
