Another street shot from the Eagle Rock photo walk. I got interested in what it means when you photograph a photograph.  This billboard of Beyonce, although commercial is some elses art, so what does it mean when I photograph it? I like my photo but I don’t fool myself into thinking that its something that its not. However since I’m not trying to make a reproduction (which would make me a technician) but instead I’m making my own art.  I’m sure that this is covered in Theory of Photography 101 at every Jr. College in America but since I’m self taught it gives me pause for thought. If you’ve read this much you are are much to kind. The outward thinking about this will now stop.

When its time to prepare for the Rose Bowl, The streets of Pasadena become lined with stainless steel bleachers in preperation of the Rose Bowl parade. I wanted to take an image of the bleachers but in a unusual and unique way. I shot this with my Nikon D300 with my SB 900 Off Shoe. This is what I got.

This was shot somewhere on the outskirts of the toy district/fashion district/etc. I can’t remember the exact location. Within a few blocks is a Huge Shepard Fairey “Obey” and a tad away was something very Bansky(ish) as well as a hodgepodge of others street art. Good times!
